Join the 'Friends of Francis' team for the 15th Annual Hope-in-Motion and Graduation.
On Sunday, June 6th, please join the 'Friends of Francis' team at ‘Hope-in-Motion’s 15th Annual Walk, Run & Ride fundraising event. The 'Friends of Francis' team was formed seven years ago after my son, Francis, died of osteogenic sarcoma (bone cancer) on March 12th 2003, two-and-half months after diagnosis. A family friend started the 'Friends of Francis' for this event that year in 2003. This is the 8th year that the 'Friends of Francis' is participating. It's a fun event and at the same time will raise vital funds that support Bennett Cancer Center programs and services for local cancer patients and their families including research and clinical trials, genetic counseling, integrative medicine programs, Red Cross transportation, and home care equipment.
Participating in this event allows us to make a difference in the lives of cancer patients and I thank you in advance for joining the 'Friends of Francis' team and keeping it alive and strong. It is you who make the team going on every year. The team spirit keeps the memory of my son, Francis, alive, that losing him to cancer help us realize that everyone is connected and that no one can survive this crisis alone. This year, Francis would have graduated from high-school. Let’s make this year a big GRADUATION event and hope to see some of his old friends and classmates and their parents at the event.
The 15th Annual Hope in Motion – Walk, Run & Ride will be held in Columbus Park. Please join the ‘Friends of Francis’ team this year! Please note that for this year the Run and Walk start is at the same time. The Run will go first and the Walk follows. Here’s the current schedule of events:
